Every package below started as a real trip we drove — a family that wanted temples and a beach in the same week, a couple that only had four days for Kerala, a college group on a fixed budget. Pick the closest match to what you're planning, and treat it as a starting point rather than a fixed menu. We adjust the day count, the stops and the pace once we know your actual dates.
Tamil Nadu itself has more to offer than a stopover on the way somewhere else — hill stations, wildlife reserves, waterfalls and stretches of coastline within a day's drive of Madurai.
Pine forests, Pillar Rock and a lake that's pleasant to walk around slowly rather than rush past.
Cooler air, botanical gardens and a toy train ride that's worth planning your morning around.
Nine named falls in the area — the main falls get crowded, but a couple of the smaller ones stay quiet even in season.
An early-morning safari option if you're adding a couple of extra days to an Ooty trip.
Stone-carved shore temples and monuments, usually paired with a Chennai city stop.
A late-afternoon walk here is the usual way we close out a Chennai add-on day.
For a first trip together, we lean toward fewer stops and more time at each one — a houseboat night, a quiet beach, a hill town — rather than a packed sightseeing list.
A night on the backwaters, usually the anchor point of a Kerala honeymoon itinerary.
A calmer beach stretch than most, good for an evening walk after a day of driving.
A simpler, quieter stay option for couples who'd rather skip the resort crowd.
Kerala's largest waterfall, usually worked in as a half-day stop en route between hill and coast.
These are the temple, church and mosque circuits families ask us for most — some doable in a single long day from Madurai, others better spread across two or three.
Usually the first stop for visiting families, right here in Madurai.
Best reached early to avoid the midday crowd at the main sanctum.
Worth an hour just for the tower carving alone, not just a quick photo stop.
The hill-circling walk here is popular on full-moon dates — worth checking before you fix travel days.
Usually combined with a Chidambaram or Kumbakonam stop to make the distance worthwhile.
The furthest of our regular pilgrimage routes — needs a proper two or three-day trip, not a rushed day drive.
Pondicherry is a change of pace from the rest of this list — French-era streets, a slower morning routine, and none of the temple-hopping schedule.
A quieter stop for anyone wanting a break from the busier promenade area.
One of the better-known landmarks in the French Quarter, easy to combine with a walking tour.
Best explored on foot in the early morning before the heat and traffic pick up.
Set aside a separate half-day for this — it's a short drive out and shouldn't be rushed between other stops.
We don't run a separate set of destinations for student and college groups — it's mostly the same places on this page, priced and paced differently for a group budget:
A tempo traveller or minicoach splits the fare across more people, which usually works out cheaper than families realise.
For a group trip, we assign one person on our side to handle headcount changes, meal timing and any last-minute swaps.
Group bookings usually go with dormitory-style or shared rooms — the destinations themselves don't change.
For school and college trips we're happy to share a written itinerary in advance for institutional approval.
Kerala is the single most requested multi-day trip we plan from Madurai. These are the stops that tend to make the final cut.
The boat safari here is worth booking in advance during peak months.
Rolling tea estates and a cooler climate — most itineraries give this at least two full days.
For travellers who want a trek included rather than only sightseeing stops.
Usually the final stop before an airport or railway drop at the end of a Kerala trip.
Less crowded than Munnar, a good add-on for travellers who want quieter hills.
For longer trips that push further north than the usual Munnar-Thekkady-Alleppey loop.
A Karnataka trip from Madurai is a longer haul than our other packages, so we usually recommend at least six days to make the drive worthwhile.
Coffee estates and a noticeably slower pace — a good stop to break up a longer drive.
Try to time your visit for a Sunday evening if you want to see it lit up.
Ruins spread across a wide area — a half-day here goes by faster than people expect.
A coastal temple stop, usually added when the trip extends toward the Karnataka shoreline.
Similar in feel to Coorg, occasionally swapped in depending on which estate has availability.
An early-morning drive-through works better here than a formal safari booking.
These are trimmed to the shape most people ask for. Send us your dates and we'll stretch, shorten or reorder any of them.

We hold working relationships with hotels along our common routes, which helps when you're travelling in peak season and rooms get scarce.
Boat safaris, wildlife sanctuaries and certain temple entries need advance booking — we handle that so you're not queuing on arrival.
If four days starts to feel rushed once you see the full route, we'll tell you honestly and offer a five or six-day version instead.
Larger groups get a different cost breakdown per person — worth asking about even if you're currently planning for a smaller number.
Yes — the three sample plans above cover our most requested routes, but most of our bookings are actually modified versions of these or entirely custom routes built from scratch.
October through March is generally the most comfortable window for both. Kerala's monsoon months (June to August) suit travellers who specifically want to see the waterfalls in full flow.
We quote vehicle and driver costs separately from accommodation by default, since hotel preferences vary a lot. We're happy to bundle both if you'd rather have one final number.
We've handled everything from a couple travelling alone up to coach-sized college groups. The vehicle changes with group size, not the destinations.
